  8. Requirements: an Amiga with 1MB and Kickstart 2.0.  A hard disk is
  9.     highly recommended.

  11. Oberon-A is a freely-distributable Oberon-2 compiler. Oberon-2 is a
  12. modern object-oriented language designed by Niklaus Wirth, the creator
  13. of Pascal and Modula-2, and Hanspeter Mössenböck. Oberon-A is an
  14. implementation of the language for the Amiga computer, ported from a
  15. compiler written by Niklaus Wirth.

  17. The archive contains the compiler, a pre-link utility, a linker (BLink),
  18. error lister, a programmer's environment, other utilities and
  19. documentation. The documentation is in AmigaGuide and plain ASCII
  20. formats. A text editor is *not* included.

  22. This archive is NOT the complete Oberon-A distribution. You must also
  23. obtain Oberon-A_1.5_lib.lha, which contains the source code for the
  24. library modules, Amiga interface and examples. Oberon-A_1.5_src.lha
  25. contains the source for the compiler and utilities, but is optional.

  27. This is release 1 of Oberon-A and is BETA software.  If you don't like
  28. buggy software, wait for a future release.  This archive supersedes
  29. Oberon-A_1.4.lha and incorporates all the bug-fixes and improvements
  30. made to date.

  34. If you have a previous version of Oberon-A already installed, DO NOT
  35. unpack the sub-archives until you have read the "Updating" section in
  36. Oberon-A.doc.  There have been major changes made in this update and you
  37. need to proceed carefully.
